8mm movie cameras and projectors can be serviced!

PROJECTORS

Vintage models like the old Bell & Howell Standard 8 projector on the left are perhaps not quite serviceable any longer, but most popular brands can generally be restored.

Brands such as Bolex, Copal, Elmo, Eumig, Fujiscope, Ricoh, Sankyo, Titan and Yelco often just need a maintenance service and some new drive belts to be made operational.

A movie projector maintenance service will cost around $165 plus parts and freight. We recommend you contact us for advice before submitting any equipment for service.

DRIVE BELTS

In most cases original drive belts are no longer available. For this reason we now supply custom made belts. We have details on hand for many common projector models, however, there are literally 1000s of different models. Therefore, if you need a new drive belt you should first contact us with details of your projector model.

We can make 2mm, 3mm and 4mm diameter round belts. V-shape belts cannot be made but in almost all cases you can replace a V-belt with a round belt.

If we have your model listed on our file we can make a new belt instantly. But if it is a model we have not previously made a belt for we will need you to provide us with measurements. To measure the size required please view or download the PDF information page available here.

MOVIE CAMERAS

The older Standard 8 movie cameras are no longer serviced and films are hard to come by these days. However, SUPER 8 cameras may still be serviced provided no parts are required.

For film stock you may wish to try DVD Infinity in Sydney or Nanolab in Melbourne..

We offer repair service to selected brands and models, all subject to our inspection and assessment. You need to be prepared for a minimum cost of $250 for simple models and $350 + for more feature packed models.

Contact us with model details and description of problem and condition before sending it to us. We will advise you whether it is worth looking at.
