Information about
Service Assessment and Insurance Claim reports:

Service Assessment Fee:
Service orders and Assessment Reports are subject to a Service Assessment Fee.

The fee covers preliminary dismantling and inspection necessary to assess and determine service requirements, to prepare the estimate or report, keeping the equipment insured, and the costs to return the equipment to you again.

It’s like going to the dentist! You pay for the preliminary examination even if you don’t need any work done, HOWEVER, unlike the dentist, if you approve our estimate and proceed with the recommended work then there is no charge for the assessment.

Assessment charges vary depending on the preliminary work required to establish service requirements, however, assessment costs for film cameras, lenses and projectors is a maximum of $45.- and for Digital SLR cameras a maximum of $95.- can be expected.

Insurance Claim Reports:
If your service request is subject to an Insurance Claim and your Insurance company requires a written report or quotation the charge for the report is non-refundable. Your insurance company is likely to pay the fee if they request the report, however, you should confirm this with them prior to submitting the equipment as the fee is payable in advance.

Recycling Program

RecycleCameraIf your camera is assessed as unrepairable or if you decide that the service is uneconomical you may decide to let us RECYCLE the equipment. Rather than paying the cost of the assessment and having it returned unrepaired you can choose to assign the equipment to us for salvage recycling.
In that case there is no charge for the assessment and if you have prepaid the fee the charge will be refunded to you.
