Olympus OM series
The very famous OM series from Olympus with the exceptional Zuiko lenses.
Parts are becoming scarce but if you have a clean undamaged OM camera, then repair should not be a problem!
Service includes an update to the meter circuit to enable use of Silver-Oxide battery, replacement of all seal and cushion material, shutter and mechanism lubrication and adjustment.
Dark shadows sometimes seen in the viewfinder is due to the prism silvering having been damaged, usually from storing the camera under humid conditions. We can mostly eliminate the shadows, but not entirely.
General service incl parts & materials up to $265.- Standard Zuiko lens serviced at the same time $85.-
OM.2, 30 or 40: If parts are needed, these models may not be repairable and assessment is necessary in each case. Service includes replacing all seals and cushion material replaced, lubrication and adjustment as required.
OM.10 & OM.20 These models need to be assessed for known corrosion problem before service is carried out. If there is no corrosion and the circuit is sound then the camera will restore well. Sign of service need: Slow shutter and overexposed pictures, sticky seal, mirror locked half way up. Service cost usually around $200.-
Olympus Trip 35 You may well ask why you would want this camera restored? Here’s some reasons: It is compact and does NOT need batteries to operate. It is metal construction. It has one of the sharpest lenses you will find on any camera. It is all manual in operation, no motors or battery dependent circuitry to fail. Its auto-exposure works by a solar cell. Granted it has no zoom or built-in flash, but as a back-up on holidays you can’t go wrong.
Complete service & refurbishing $135.-
Olympus Pen EE series We also restore the famous Olympus Pen series of half-frame cameras - please contact us for details.
