Our workshop and service challenges!

Technicians work station

Tools, Electronic and Optical test equipment, jigs and materials used to service, diagnostics and calibration of cameras and lenses amount to over $30.000

Pentax SP dismantled

On the right a look at the shutter module used in  Bronica cameras.

While mechanical in design the speeds are controlled electronically from 1 second to 1/500 second using a magnet and timing circuitry.

A recent interesting job was an old view camera shutter with pneumatic controlled slow speed govenor.

The polished reassembled shutter

Above the restored, polished up and service Compound Shutter. Below refitted with the original lens elements.

Olympus Pen F shutter module

The module on the left is a very good example of the intricacies and design of an all mechanical shutter.

This one is out of  the classic Olympus Pen F - a half frame SLR camera much sought after by collectors.

One of the little known services we provide is the conversion of D-SLR cameras for Infrared photography.

With conventional cameras you place an infrared filter in front of the lens to filter out visible light.
With a Digital SLR camera it is necessary to replace the Low Pass protection filter in front of the Image Sensor with a suitable Infrared filter.

This involves removing the sensor unit from the camera which is a delicate and reasonably costly process.
However, some very interesting results can be achieved.
